A murderous, secret conspiracy

The plot is discovered by a Washington Investigative News Daily (WIND) roving reporter. But before he can warn anyone he is murdered. The dying reporter left an enigmatic message in blood on his window.

Young marine combat correspondent David Lee Hunter is hired an to replace the dead reporter. David’s job? Prove the conspiracy exists, and then expose and destroy it.

When David, mustered out of the Marines, he worried he couldn’t cut it in the civilian world. Now, thrilled to have landed a a job with a prestigious news service, he throws himself into the task of learning the truth. His first day on the job, he attends a PADAE news cofererence (People Against Declining American Education. There, he stops a mass murderer bent on killing the PADAE leaders. All the major TV networks broadcast his heroic exploit, and from that event on, the excitement builds to a fever pitch.

During his investigation, he meets and falls in love with a brilliant computer researcher, Angela Bel Geddes. He calls Angela the “smartest, most beautiful woman on planet earth.” His main problem? Live long enough to marry the girl.

Together David and Angela work to uncover the conspiracy and find a way to save the country from an evil want-to-be dictator.
